India's leading mobile payments and financial services company, Paytm, has made another key stride towards easier global travel for Indian users. The company has now rolled out an all-new feature to make UPI payments seamlessly across select international locations. Indian tourists would now be able to use the Paytm app to make cashless payments in the UAE, Singapore, France, Mauritius, Bhutan, and Nepal, making it the ultimate convenience experience for shopping, dining, and walking around local attractions while abroad.
Holiday seasons tend to increase international travels, and Paytm's new feature cuts across all that hassle of carrying cash or exchanging currency. By leveraging the power of UPI, users can make instant, secure transactions while enjoying their colorful international experiences.
Activating Paytm UPI International is a one-time process linked to the user's existing bank account. The app automatically prompts activation when scanning a UPI-enabled QR code abroad. International travel can be booked for any period, starting from 1 to 90 days. The service is optional and may be closed down at any time. This aspect eliminates the possibility of extra charges being incurred outside of intended use, enhancing the security of an international transaction. The app also improves transparency with real-time foreign exchange rates and bank conversion fees before the final transaction, hence complete control over the spending by the user.
Paytm UPI International is designed to provide unmatched convenience at iconic destinations. Whether it’s shopping in Dubai’s luxury malls, savouring French cuisine at Parisian cafés, enjoying the vibrant beach markets of Mauritius, or exploring handicrafts in Bhutan and Nepal, users can now pay effortlessly with their Paytm app.
A spokesperson from Paytm said, "As the pioneer in mobile payments, we are thrilled to extend our innovative solutions to global travel. UPI International reflects our commitment to empowering Indian users with safe, cashless payments anywhere in the world".
Paytm has introduced a UPI statement download feature which further improves financial management. This enables users to access transaction records in detail, track their expenses, and keep track of their budgets during and after their travels. The feature can facilitate efficient planning and users can remain financially organized.
Beyond international payments, Paytm also remains at the head of the mobile payment solutions business: with services that include UPI Lite for small transactions, RuPay Credit Card linking with UPI, and auto-pay options for bills, its ecosystem of innovations-including the Paytm Soundbox and card machines-underline the company's dedication to meeting the evolving needs of its users.
Here, with this new feature, Paytm is no longer simplifying travel but rather redefining Indian users' interfaces with the world. With bridging gaps in global payment accessibility, the company reapplies its mission of empowering half a billion Indians with cutting-edge technology.
