Catching them young

Warren Buffett started investing when he was 11 and has gone on record to state that he was probably late by a few years. So, in our attempt to get students hooked to investing, Outlook Money along with Birla Sun Life AMC, have taken it on ourselves to visit campuses to introduce students about the benefits of early investing.

Our recent such endeavour took us to Amity University in Noida and Greater Noida, where we addressed about 300 MBA and engineering students. These sessions were engaging and interactive with students posing doubts and the speakers keeping them on check with quizzes thrown in. Each of the sessions lasted for two hours, wherein the discussion revolved around managing money, the importance of investing early and how one could achieve their financial goals by understanding basics of investing.

This initiative is to encourage students to be better geared with their finances once they start earning. With the placement season almost through, several of the placed students took the opportunity to understand how they should go about starting their investment journey.
