Also called Surya Shashti, Chhath Puja is that deeply revered annual Hindu festival celebrated in India in light of honouring Surya, the Sun God, without whom life or life's mere continuation, was not possible. It also bestows upon us the very sense of prosperity. Special fasting, prayers, and holy dips in rivers such as the Ganga are rituals followed specifically in northern India by devotees seeking blessings to stay healthy, happy, and long-lived. In that respect, the tradition which began in the Vedic period reflects some universal aspects of strength, protection, and regeneration. Motivated by these values, Chhath Puja also calls one to introspection in relation to our approach toward securing economic stability and reflecting upon what life insurance might offer regarding protection for one's loved ones.
