Moneywise, are package travel deals always the best?

Package travel deals are a cost saver as tour operators negotiate in bulk and pass the benefits to the customer says Karan Anand, Head-Relationships, and Cox & Kings. Package travel deals work on a fixed itinerary and have all the important inclusions. For example, Cox and Kings’ 11 days/10 nights group package for Europe that includes visit to France, Italy, Switzerland and United Kingdom costs Rs.1.57 lakh per person. If you decide to go on a similar holiday on your own, it will certainly cost you 30-40 per cent more. We can manage this offer because of our tie-ups with the suppliers, i.e., hotels, major attractions and local destination management companies (DMCs). We pass on the benefit we get from them to our customers.
