Why haven’t I received the insurance premium notice from the insurer?

There was a time when the insurance company had to send you a premium payment notice or reminder. However, the IRDAI changed its guidelines wherein insurers are obliged to send premium reminders. One of the reasons for doing away with the premium reminder letters is the fact that it is a costly affair. Most insurers however, do send reminders by emails and SMS to the registered email ID or the mobile number. The onus of paying premiums on time is on the policyholder as the policy document has all the details of the due dates. Do not wait for the reminder notice to come from the insurer, be proactive in maintaining a reminder log on the premium dues to keep your policy alive and active.
