I was shifting cities in December 2016, when my father had sent a demand draft to me, which I completely forgot about. The draft is no more valid and is payable in Delhi, while I have moved to Bangalore. How can I resolve this?

The lesson for you from this incident is to ensure that you do not take money matters lightly. First, speak to your father about the non encashment of the draft, because he would have paid money for it, including DD charges and fees. Send the draft back to him, as it will be easy for him to visit the bank from where the DD was made in the first place to get the bank to cancel the same and reissue him a new one, with any additional charges that may apply. In times of NEFT, RTGS and UPI, bank draft is a passé and you should ideally share your bank account number where the money needs to be transferred and share the same with your father for him to transfer the money accordingly.
