In the apartment where I live, the RWA has already purchased a home insurance for all flats. Should I still buy a separate plan?

It is a good gesture by the housing society body where you live. However, RWAs typically buy insurance for the structure of the flat. Coverage is limited to the reconstruction cost for the structure of the flat and does not cover contents of the house. You should buy a home insurance on your own to include the contents of your house, which are equally valuable. Do check the quantum of cover in the householder policy taken by the RWA and if it is sufficient before proceeding to take a policy on your own.
