Transporting your car by a train as you are moving cities is a common practice, though many people use the services of on road movers for the same. Insurance cover for transporting your car which already has a comprehensive motor insurance is not needed. A comprehensive motor insurance policy covers you against loss or damage to the vehicle while in transit by road, rail, inland waterway, lift, elevator or air. So, any damage to the car during transit by rail will stand covered under your existing policy.
