I have just started my career. Which insurance should I buy at this stage? Should it be with a PSU or Private insurer?

Congratulations on embarking on your professional life, and it is smart of you to consider insurance at such an early phase of your life. Ideally, at the stage in your life you should consider an accident insurance and medical insurance before thinking of life insurance. The reason for this approach is to make sure that the risk to your life owing to accidents is taken care of and so is the financial implications of falling sick and hospitalisation. As for the choice of insurer, it really does not matter because all operating insurers are regulated by IRDAI, which has the policyholder’s interest high up in its priority list.
