Do life insurers have a terror cover option too? If yes, is it worthwhile?
Abhishek Awasthi, Bhopal
Generally all life insurance policies provide coverage against death of a person by any means including terror attacks unless the policy specifically excludes the peril. So far there is no stand alone life insurance policy which cover terror attacks. It is only the personal accident policy which provides for specific compensation where death occurs as a result of terrorist attack. With terrorism now touching daily life, some private insurance companies are in the process of developing such covers. It is however, recommended that one should rather go for a comprehensive life insurance policy which would provide coverage against every kind of an unforeseen happening.
