I am 50 years old and was a heavy smoker till about a decade ago. Do I need to disclose this while purchasing a health cover?

When it comes to declaration with respect to insurance of any kind, be as precise as possible to share information on all questions posed to you. Although most health insurers do not inquire about smoking habits so there is no need for an additional disclosure, but if there is any information sought wherein you have to inform about this habit – please do so and not hide it. You need not get into how many cigarettes you smoked, but you could inform that you did smoke and have stopped smoking for a decade.
