Odisha government distributed the third phase of the first instalment of Subhadra Yojana to over 20 lakh women on November 24, 2024. Under the scheme every woman received Rs 5,000; the disbursement was completed during an event held in Sundargarh in Odisha. Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Majhi said that disbursement worth over Rs 1,000 crore has been distributed under the scheme aimed at empowering women.

The government now plans to enrol over 1 crore beneficiaries by December 2024, and as of date, the incentive has been delivered to 80 lakh women since the third phase of the first instalment concluded recently.

Majhi said that Subhadra Yojana will be the biggest welfare initiative in Odisha and will look forward to benefiting over 1 crore sisters and mothers. He added, "The previous government had taken Mission Shakti, where interest-free loans were provided, but Subhadra Scheme administers direct monetary assistance to all the women in the state.".

In Sundargarh district, more than 4.59 lakh women have registered themselves for this scheme, with over 3.37 lakh women already receiving their first instalment in the third phase. Apart from that, Majhi launched 988 projects worth Rs 1,282 crore for Sundargarh. Amongst those, he inaugurated 692, which amounts to a total investment of Rs 312.3 crore.

Speaking at the event in Sundargarh, Union Tribal Affairs Minister Jual Oram reiterated the depth of commitment of the state government towards women's development. Deputy CM Pravati Parida had gone on to highlight the overwhelming enthusiasm that reigns across women in the State for the Subhadra Scheme. She also thanked the ASHA workers and the self-help groups for their significant cooperation in this venture.

Other distinguished guests who attended the program were Ravi Naik, Panchayati Raj and Drinking Water Minister, MLA Durga Tanti of Raghunathpali and Subha Sarma, Secretary for Women and Child Development.

Here's a step-by-step guide in checking the beneficiary status of the Subhadra Scheme:

Step 1: Go to the official website http://subhadra.odisha.gov.in

Step 2: Search for the "Beneficiary List" on the homepage

Step 3: Select your district, tehsil, gram panchayat, and ward

Step 4: You will see a list displaying the names of approved beneficiaries, if your name is seen on the list, you are then eligible for the Direct Benefit transfer (DBT) payment under the scheme.
