Zerodha, technology-driven digital brokerage firm, has announced the launch of ‘Varsity Mobile App’, Zerodha Varsity. It is the flagship educational initiative of Zerodha that will provide highly structured and detailed notes on everything one needs to know about trading and investment. The content that was earlier restricted to web will also be available on its mobile avatar. The Varsity has a 4.7-star rating and has already been downloaded about 20,000 times so far.

Commenting on the development, Karthik Rangappa, VP (Research and Educational Services), Zerodha, said, Education and sharing knowledge have always been at the forefront of everything we do at Zerodha. Over the years, we have done this relentlessly via various channels and formats – Varsity, Webinars, TradingQnA, Z-Connect, and through partner products such as LearnApp. The new mobile app will take this effort to a whole new level by giving us the excess to millions of mobile users who want to learn about financial markets.

The readers can choose a difficulty level to start learning based on their financial knowledge. It has been broken down into three levels: Beginner, Intermediate and Advance. Each difficulty level has several chapters with bite-size cards for the ease of learning. “We are launching the Varsity app with two modules – ‘Introduction to stock markets’ and ‘Technical Analysis’, but over time we will add all the other modules as well,” added Rangappa.

The Varsity mobile app also gives readers a chance to put their memory skills to test with three quizzes at the end of all three levels. The readers will get a Varsity certificate in the end if they manage to score a minimum of 60 per cent in each of the three quizzes plus 60 per cent on the certification exam itself.

Zerodha has also added a unique feature called The Wall in the mobile version of Varsity. The Wall is a place where industry experts (on invite basis) will share their views and opinions about the markets. The idea behind this feature is to link their view to related concepts in the modules which can transform the reader learning experience.
