It's been an interesting year for the financial services industry space and a lot happened in the year 2016. As they say, champions rarely talk; they just perform and later the world talks about them. Like last year, our agenda in finding out the best from array of contenders was rigorous and tougher and we also saw some additions in terms of categories for our prestigious Outlook Money Awards 2016.
The awards witnessed expansion within the seven broad categories under which the awards are categorised. The new categories of awards include Retail NBFC and Motor insurance. The total number of awards was 17, including a special award for innovative approach to investor education being added to the list.
Adequate weights were given to consumer-centric processes and systems to ensure that all applicants get a fair chance irrespective of factors like their size, outreach and transaction volumes. Aided by the guidance from the jury, the parameters were encapsulated across five broad categories and appropriate weights were assigned.
The jury consisted of Ashish Chauhan, MD and CEO, Bombay Stock Exchange, Prashant Saran, Former Whole Time Member, SEBI, Rajesh Mokashi, MD and CEO, CARE Ratings, Dr. Rajiv Kumar, Founding Director, Pahle India Foundation and Shailesh Haribhakti, Group Chairman, DH Consultants.
Based on the evaluation, the shortlisted candidates were presented to the jury. The final winners across all categories were selected by the jury after the thorough analysis of the evaluation of all applicants and subsequent to the extensive deliberations while taking stock of finer parameters.
Winners don't need any introductions. Their work already speaks volumes in terms of what they have achieved. Here are all the winners of Outlook Money Awards 2016:
