Star Health Insurance on Wednesday launched the “Mind Health Program” to create awareness about mental health and deal with issues like stress, anxiety, panic, eating disorders, and obsessive-compulsive behaviours. Star Health has tied up with Securra Health to provide its customers with this wellness benefit across its insurance products, it said in a press release.

The programme aims to enhance mental health literacy and make people resilient against mental health issues. It will conduct a pre- and post-programme evaluation of the customers’ understanding and coping skills before enrolling into the programme.

Star Health will provide personalised coaching, community support, and expert knowledge of health counselors via an app, email, zoom calls, chat support, or WhatsApp. Under this service, individuals can seek mental health-related advice to manage their mental health issues.

Anand Roy, MD and CEO of Star Health Insurance, said, “We believe that Mental health is not just about managing symptoms—it is about reclaiming control, hope and joy in our lives. The challenges of stress, anxiety, and other mental health issues have grown exponentially, affecting people of all ages. Through our Mind Health Program, we aim to provide individuals with not just the tools and knowledge to cope, but the confidence to embrace life fully.”

Roy added, “Together, we can change the narrative around mental health—empowering individuals to seek support, reduce the stigma, and ultimately lead more fulfilling lives.”

Programme Features

Steps To Deal With Stress and Anxiety: The programme offers individuals a better understanding of stress, anxiety, coping mechanisms, and self-care practices. They can also avail of support calls and mental health coaching for their benefit to cope with mental health issues.

Mitigating Panic Attacks: The programme will help individuals understand panic attacks and develop a personalised response plan. It will be done through midweek check-in calls, and the individuals will be guided on navigating challenging times.

Fixing Eating Disorders: Through this service, the individual will get to know about eating disorders, their impact on the body and mind, and how one can support a person suffering from this disorder. The program will track the progress and ensure that when leaving the programme, the person has clarity on how to handle this disorder.

Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD): The programme will help in understanding OCD through videos by the experts and supporting people in managing their OCD issues with coaching so that they can deal with their challenges under professional guidance.
