Sikho Kamao Yojana: To reduce the unemployment rate in Madhya Pradesh, the government planned to encourage the youth to get employment in the private sector. For this, the MP government started 'Mukhyamantri Sikho Kamao Yojana'. Under this scheme, youth are prepared for employment by giving them training in different sectors. The special thing is that the government also gives a stipend of up to Rs 10,000 to the youth during this training.
What Is Seekho Kamao Yojana?
Under the 'Mukhyamantri Sikho Kamao Yojana', youth are given training for one year (the duration of some courses can be 6 and 9 months) in identified industrial and commercial establishments. During training, these youth are given a 75 per cent stipend through Direct Benefit Transfer by the government and 25 per cent by the company. If the company wants, it can give more than a 25 per cent stipend. The youth selected under the scheme will be called 'student-trainee'.
What Is The Objective Of The Scheme?
After formal education, many youths are not skilled enough to work in industrial and commercial establishments. In such a situation, despite having a degree, they have to look for employment. Sikho Kamao Yojana aims to provide skills to such youth and prepare them for employment.
Who is eligible?
Youth aged between 18 to 29 years, who are residents of Madhya Pradesh. Educational qualification should be 12th/ITI passed or above. They can fill out the form for the scheme.
Who will get how much money?
There is a provision of a stipend of Rs 8000 per month for 12th pass trainee, Rs 8500 for ITI pass youth, Rs 9000 for diploma passed and Rs 10,000 per month for graduate or higher degree holders.
Every year, 1 lakh youth will get benefits under the scheme, this number can be increased considering the need.

How to apply?
To avail of the benefits of the scheme, one can register on the MMYS portal. If you are eligible then enter your Samagra ID and the mobile number registered with Samagra ID. OTP will be sent on mobile no. which has to be verified. After this, the overall information will be displayed automatically. After application, the user name and password will be received through SMS. Then, the applicant will be automatically logged in where the applicant has to attach the educational qualification documents. After this, courses will be shown according to your educational qualification, you will have to choose your favourite course among them. The candidate can choose the place where he is ready to undergo training.

Selection process
The youth selected under the Sikho Kamao scheme will be registered by the Madhya Pradesh State Skill Development and Employment Generation Board (MPSSDEGB) as student candidates under the SCVT-prescribed course. The list of courses will be available on the scheme portal and on - ssdm.mp.gov.in/. Necessary changes may be made in this by MPSSDEGB from time to time. Minimum educational qualification and duration will be prescribed for each course.
