The Department of Pension and Pensioners’ Welfare (DoPPW) launched the Integrated Pensioners’ Portal of the Bank of India to digitalise pension services and enhance the welfare of pensioners. The move consolidates the pension processing and payment services of five banks into a single window for their services, a PIB release said.
Digital empowerment of pensioners is being implemented through various means such as Digital Life Certificates and Bhavishya Portal to enhance the welfare of pensioners, Shrinivas said.
The move seeks to address the issues faced by pensioners when dealing with banks such as when changing banks, checking the status of their life certificate submission, accessing pension slips, obtaining Form 16, and finding pension receipt information. This will allow pensioners to access all of these services from a single window.
Shortly most of the Pension Disbursing Banks will be integrated with Integrated Pensioners’ Portal, the release added.
Bhavishya platform, a key component of the portal seeks to ensure End-to-End digitization of Pension processing and payment which commences from the retiree filing his or her papers online till the issue of the PPO in electronic format and going into the Digilocker.
The portal marks a significant stride towards digital empowerment for pensioners, facilitating services such as Digital Life Certificates and the Bhavishya Portal, said Shrinivas. By integrating the websites of Pension Disbursing Banks with the Integrated Pensioners’ Portal of DoPPW, the initiative seeks to address common pensioner concerns such as change of bank, life certificate submission status, pension slip, Form 16, and pension receipt information.
Integrated Pension Platform
IPP has a Bhavishya platform and CPENGRAMS an online complaint redressal system. The Bhavishya platform ensures end-to-end digitisation of pension processing and payment and plays a crucial role in achieving transparency and efficiency in pension-related services.
The system captures the pensioner's personal and service particulars. The forms for processing of pension can be submitted online. It keeps retiring employees informed of the progress of the pension sanction process through SMS/E-Mail. The system obviates delays in the payment of pensions by ensuring complete transparency. The ‘Bhavishya’ platform, was made mandatory for all central government departments w.e.f. January 1, 2017. The task of integrating of Pension Portal of SBI, Bank of Baroda, Punjab National Bank and Canara Bank with the Bhavishya portal has been completed. Now the pensioners of the Bank of India have a single stop for services like pension slips, status of submission of Life Certificate, Due and Drawn statement and Form-16 through the Integrated Pensioners’ Portal.
It also has a Centralised Pension Grievances Redress And Monitoring System (CPENGRAMS) which is an online computerised system which has been developed with the objective of speedy redress and effective monitoring of the grievances besides providing fast access to the pensioners. Pensioners can also appeal if they are not satisfied with the redressal of their grievance.
