The crypto market on December 15 took a beating and was hence trading with losses, although some altcoins were up trading with gains. Bitcoin (BTC), Ethereum (ETH), Binance (BNB) all were all down trading with losses, while Solana (SOL), Aave (AAVE), and others were trading with gains.
The crypto market cap fell about 1.17 per cent to $861.03 billion and its trading volume was down by 12.84 per cent to $46.36 billion, according to data from Coinmarketcap.com at 8.50 am.
Today’s top gainer was XDC Network (XDC); it was up 9.03 per cent at $0.02431. The top loser was Neutrino USD (USDN), which was trading at $0.6416 with a loss of 9.72 per cent in the last 24 hours to Thursday morning.
Cryptocurrency Prices
Bitcoin: BTC fell 0.52 per cent to $17,728.44.
BTC’s trade on December 14 was highly volatile with its price trading in a narrow and confined range between $17,800 to $17,900. However around 8pm, BTC experienced a sudden upward price momentum and it lifted it from the lows of $17,800 to highs of $18,000 and even higher. However this uplifting momentum evaporated by the midnight of December 15.
The lowest price for BTC was $17,642.51. BTC’s trading volume was down by 0.83 per cent at $26,336,338,713.
Ethereum: Ethereum’s (ETH) price fell 2.23 per cent to $1,292.90 in the last 24 hours to Thursday morning.
ETH was also experiencing a volatile trade same as BTC. However around 12.40 pm on December 14 an uplifting momentum was prevalent in ETH’s trade and as a direct result of it, ETH’s price jumped from $1,261 to $1,339 within a span of 4 hours. But its trading volume levels continued to remain lower.
The lowest price for ETH was $1,287.78. ETH’s trading volume was down by 6.5 per cent at $8,309,670,689.
Other Altcoins: Solana’s (SOL) price was up by 1.43 per cent at $14.08 today.
Ripple (XRP) was down by 2.77 per cent at $0.38 and its 24-hour trading volume was $925.43 million.
Cardano (ADA) was down by 3.08 per cent to $0.3036. Cardano’s 24-hour trading volume was down by 17.4 per cent to $259,923,902.
Binance (BNB) was down by 2.92 per cent to $264.49. Its 24-hour trading volume was down by 42.86 per cent at $1,058,847,971 .
Meme Coins
Dogecoin fell 3.99 per cent at $0.08738. Its 24-hour trading volume was up by 19.22 per cent at $593,271,026.
Shiba Inu was down by 3.77 per cent to $0.000008858.
Decentralised Finance (DeFi)
Yearn.Finance (YFI) was down by 1.58 per cent to $6,374.65. Its 24-hour trading volume was down by 27.21 per cent at $19,778,611.
Avalanche (AVAX) was down by 0.54 per cent at $13.66 and its 24-hour trading volume was down by 24.86 per cent at $223,703,798.
Aave (AAVE) was trading with a gain of 0.49 per cent at $62.10 and its 24-hour trading volume was at $55.03 million.
