Bengaluru, dubbed India’s Silicon Valley, is one of the most sought-after cities for homebuyers. Over 11,000 new residential units were launched in the city in first quarter (Q1) of 2023. East Bangalore is again the leading choice of homebuyers, accounting for nearly 40 per cent of new launches, followed by South Bangalore at 28 per cent and North Bangalore at 26 per cent. Online search trends show that independent homes continued to be the top choice, clocking 35 per cent. 2BHK units were the most searched, followed by 3BHK. Mid-segment properties worth Rs 60-100 lakh comprised 58 per cent of the searches. Demand for properties priced over Rs 1 crore saw a dip. Likewise, demand for properties worth less than Rs 30 lakh continued to fall, as homebuyers preferred bigger units with better amenities. Properties worth Rs 60-100 lakh and apartments comprised 39 per cent and 52 per cent of the supply inventory, respectively.
