This government of Tamil Nadu enterprise manufactures printing and writing paper by using bagasse. Bagasse is an agricultural residue obtained during the manufacture of sugar at sugar mills. The company has forayed into the high-growth packaging segment with its 2 lakh tonne paperboard manufacturing facility in January 2016. Its operational efficiency stems from its captive power plants; producing excess power which is transferred to the state grid. As a forward integration strategy, the company setup a cement plant to convert the mill wastes such as lime sludge and fly ash, which now produces 900tpd high profile grade cement.
