SBI General Insurance has stepped up to extend a helping hand to their customers affected by torrential rains in Mumbai. Areas such as Dadar, Sion, Chembur, Parel, Kurla, Chunnabhatti, Wadala and Tilak Nagar, Vikhroli, and Bhandup have been heavily affected due to cloudbursts, landslide and over-flowing of water.

The company has stood by its customers during these trying times. The team at SBI General has set the standard operating process in motion and set up a task force to manage queries and claims on fast-track mode, monitoring incoming information and is equipped to respond to all queries.

Customers can register their claims via various means, namely by calling the company’s toll-free number (1800 102 1111), text messaging <CLAIM> to 561612, emailing customer.care@sbigeneral.in, or by visiting the Claims Intimation Section on www.sbigeneral.in

The company has reached out to a panel of surveyors to avoid any loss of time in the claim settlement process. As a part of the process, surveyors are advised to use contemporary technology, including drones, to carry out immediate surveys. Additionally, SBI General follows a process of ‘Express Claims’ settlement for losses of up to Rs. 10 lakhs for Commercial Lines/SME Claims. Through SBI General’s Fastlane Initiative, customers can get their small value motor claims settled almost instantly. Heavy rainfalls in the districts have brought along an array of problems and losses for customers and SBI General will waive off the documentation requirement wherever possible. Immediate settlements will be made in case of certain smaller claims.

Equipped with digital readiness and a robust business continuity plan, SBI General is committed to help their customers get back on their feet as soon as possible.
