As the tax season has ended, many taxpayers may or may not have got their refunds, and those who didn't must monitor their status.
1. Visit the e-filing portal
The I-T Department's e-filing portal handles all tax-related activities, including the option to monitor the refund status.
Enter the user ID and password to log in. Go to the section on the dashboard to manage tax filing and monitor refund status.
If your PAN is not linked to Aadhaar, it will display a message: 'Your PAN is inactive'. To fix this, click the 'Link Now' option. If PAN is already linked, proceed by clicking 'Continue.'
Navigate to the e-filing page, select Income Tax Returns and click View Filed Returns. It will show the status of submitted returns and refunds.
Check the refund status by selecting the applicable assessment year. To display the most recent fiscal year, select FY24.
