For convenience, SBI offers doorstep banking services to people in their 70s and older, including those visually impaired or differently-abled.
Those who live within a five-kilometre radius of their home branch can avail of SBI’s doorstep banking service.
Users can create a single or joint bank account by providing KYC details and the registered mobile number.
SBI 's doorstep banking services include pickup and delivery of cash, cheques, forms, KYC papers, life certificates, drafts, etc.
Doorstep banking allows cash deposits of up to Rs 20,000 daily and withdrawals of up to Rs 20,000 per account holder.
The applicant must register at the home branch to avail of the doorstep banking service.
SBI charges Rs 100 plus GST for financial transactions and Rs 60 plus GST for non-financial dealings.
Requests made by 3:00 pm are completed within three hours the same day; after that, the next working day by 1:00 pm.
