There are two important lessons that you can learn from with these investments; first, invest in funds that have a long track record of solid performance over different market cycles. Next, track the performance of the funds that you invest in regularly so that you can exit an underperforming fund early on instead of staying invested in it forever. As your overall portfolio returns are profitable and you need the money in the next 12 months, it will be a good idea to exit your investments and keep it in a liquid fund from which you can exit as and when you need to use your investments.
