Since you have more than one policy covering the same risk, in the event of a claim, you can either inform all the companies, or any one company, giving the detail of coverage under the other policies. If, after their investigations, your claim is admissible, all the insurers will contribute in the ratio of their respective sum insured. There is no particular advantage of having more than one health insurance policy. Therefore, it is always better to have a higher amount of coverage from a single insurer only. This would save you a lot of trouble, in terms of policy renewals, claims as well as paperwork.
