Both policies service different insurance needs. For instance, in case of a regular health policy, any medical condition that the insured faces resulting in hospitalisation is covered for within the limits of the policy. On the other hand overseas health policy is basically a travel plan which also includes health risks one is exposed to when travelling abroad. The other feature of a travel insurance or overseas health plan is to also cover risks such as loss of passport, late or non-arrival of accompanied luggage, loss of baggage and accidents.
