Aster DM Healthcare Plans in-Flight Teleconsultations for Covid

The service can be accessed by downloading Aster’s mobile phone application or visiting the official website

The healthcare ecosystem in India continues to battle enormous challenges, as the surge in Covid-19 infections plays havoc in the country. Aster DM Healthcare, the leading healthcare provider in the GCC group, is extending its support to Covid-19 patients and caregivers in India by facilitating free medical advisory services about their queries through video or telephonic consultations.

Azad Moopen, Founder Chairman, and MD, Aster DM Healthcare, said, “During these turbulent times with the raging pandemic, it is important to provide simple but authentic guidance to patients and the public.” He further said that through the Aster e-Consult app, they hope to provide guidance to patients who are isolating themselves at home and avoid panic rushing to hospitals and clinics, and prevent overcrowding which may break the healthcare system.  Dr. Harish Pillai, CEO, Aster India echoed that said The Aster Covid Support Centre, in collaboration with experienced doctors, will direct patients to suitable treatment and alleviate their concerns. “Telehealth services in Dubai were first launched to support HH Sheikh Mohammed’s vision to ensure a doctor for every citizen. To bolster this initiative and extend our commitment to accessible and quality care, our doctors in GCC will now be available to counsel Indian patients and caregivers in time and provide suitable medical advice,” added Alisha Moopen, Deputy MD.

Support would be offered through Aster Volunteers, the global CSR arm programme of Aster DM Healthcare. The support can be availed by installing the company's mobile app or accessing their official website. The services can be availed from Sunday to Thursday between 1:30 and 5: 30 p.m. Two separate helplines will be made available for answering adult patient queries and paediatric patient queries.
