There has been a growing trend of investing in mutual funds (MF), and it seems to have become one of the most preferred investments choices even among novice investors. As per data released by the Association of Mutual Funds in India (Amfi), the assets under management (AUM) rose by 24 per cent to an all-time high of Rs 38.45 lakh crore in 2021 by November-end itself, as compared to Rs 31 lakh crore at the end of December 2020. In addition to that, data published during the winter session of Parliament shows that people from the low- and mid-income groups have invested the most in MFs.
