This Flexicap Fund Turned Rs 10,000 Into Rs 1.79 Crore In 21 Years; Check Details

As Canara Robeco Mutual Fund marks the 21st anniversary of its Canara Robeco Flexicap Fund, the phenomenal performance of this open-ended equity plan has sparked tremendous interest. The fund was established on September 16, 2003.

According to Canara Robeco, the Canara Robeco Flexicap Fund invests in large-cap, mid-cap, and small-cap equities with the goal of capitalizing on equity and equity-related instruments. The fund's Assets Under Management had reached Rs 13,510.37 crore as of August 30, 2024, which suggests that it has performed exceptionally well.

Over the past 21 years, the fund has delivered a Compound Annual Growth Rate (CAGR) of 18.31 per cent. According to Canara Robeco an initial investment of Rs 10,000 in the fund at inception would have grown to Rs 3,39,870 by 30 August 2024, outperforming the benchmark index, BSE 500 TRI which would have turned Rs 10,000 into Rs 2,82,607 over the same period.

Canara Robeco reports that investors who committed to a monthly Systematic Investment Plan (SIP) of Rs 10,000 since the fund's start totaling Rs 25,50,000 in contributions, saw their investment rise to Rs 1,79,47,633. This indicates the fund's capacity to generate large long-term returns through disciplined investment.

Rajnish Narula, MD & CEO, Canara Robeco Mutual Fund said, “Our fund house has recently crossed an AUM of Rs. 1 lakh crore. The Canara Robeco Flexi cap Fund has been around for more than two decades with investments in companies that have a high quality of management.”

Shridatta Bhandwaldar, Head Equities, Canara Robeco Mutual Fund said, “Our Flexicap Fund is a growth quality tilt portfolio with some blend of cyclicals. The fund is focused on large-cap stocks to bring in liquidity to the portfolio and a few mid and small-cap stocks with high conviction. Investors may also benefit from different market phases and market volatility through flexicap funds. The portfolio includes 67 equities, with the top ten accounting for 37 per cent of net assets.”

Gaurav Goyal, National Head Sales and Marketing, Canara Robeco Mutual Fund said, “At Rs. 13,510.37 crores of AUM as on 30th August,2024, the Canara Robeco Flexicap Fund is the third largest scheme among our equity funds. The Canara Robeco Flexicap Fund has seen several market cycles during the last 21 years. Investments in this fund could give investors an opportunity to invest across market capitalization.”
