Infrastructure as a theme has tremendous potential and investing in it could be favourable given the government’s push for infrastructure in the recent budget. However, infra funds are thematic. Investing in such funds in lump sum would be a better proposition than via SIPs. They are risky compared to diversified equity funds, which you should be aware of. You could consider investing in Franklin Build India, Kotak Infrastructure & Economic Reforms, BSL Infrastructure and Canara Robeco Infrastructure are some of the funds that you could consider investing in at the moment with a 1-3 year time frame.
